Photon Energy connects its first rooftop installation in Italy,

securing higher than expected tariff

Prague, 5 December 2011 – As a part of its global expansion strategy, Photon Energy has successfully completed and connected its first photovoltaic rooftop installation in Italy, expanding its own proprietary portfolio to over 25 MWp worldwide.

The rooftop installation in Verderio Inferiore, province of Lecco, with total installed capacity of 261 kWp has been designed and completed by the company’s fully owned subsidiary Photon Engineering s.r.l. Despite being scheduled for December, connection on 30 November enabled Photon Energy to secure the feed in premium of EUR 0.265/kWh, some 0.02 EUR higher than the December tariff, on top of the electricity sales revenues of EUR 0.1034/kWh.

Thus, given the estimated annual production at 315 000 kWh, the rooftop installation is expected to annually generate over 116,000 EUR in revenues.

Verderio rooftop is one of the four rooftop projects that were in the Photon Energy Italia’s pipeline, amounting altogether to the total capacity of 2.658 MWp. By adding 261 kWp to its proprietary portfolio, Photon Energy not only expanded it to more than 25 MWp, but also marked its strong foothold in one of its new home markets. Besides Italy, Photon Energy is broadening its activities in Germany and Australia, while also considering a range of further countries to soon become promising PV markets.
