Management Board

Michael Gartner – Chairman and CTO
Michael Gartner (1968) is a Czech and Australian national who graduated with an MBA from the US Business School in Prague and BEc Economics from the University of Newcastle, Australia. Between 1994 and 2004 he was an equity and debt analyst and was head of fixed income sales at ING and Commerzbank Securities in Prague. From 2005 to 2007 he ran a successful independent investment boutique arranging Eurobond issues in CZK and sell side M&A advisory. He arranged financing and technology procurement for one of the first large PV installations (0.5 MWp) in the Czech Republic commissioned in August 2007 and has been developing further projects since.

Georg Hotar – Vice-chairman and CEO
Georg Hotar (1975) is an Austrian national and graduated with a BSc Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and obtained a Master in Finance degree from London Business School. He gained a thorough background in various positions in the international financial services industry in London, Zurich and Prague. In 2000 he established Central European Capital, a finance and strategy advisory boutique active throughout Central and Eastern Europe, before conceiving the Photon Energy business in early 2007.

Petra Bednářová - Management Board Member
Petra Bednářová (1972) is a Czech national with extensive experience in financial and business administration in major corporations including ICL and St. Gobain as well as financial services companies. Petra Bednářová has worked for Photon Energy since its foundation supporting the Management in financial processes and human resources.

 

Supervisory Board

Jiří Mazánek - Chairman of the Supervisory Board
Jiří Mazánek (1975) is a Czech national with an engineering degree from the Technical university of civil engineeiring in Prague. He has in-depth experience in construction of complex projects in real estate and infrastructure, and has worked in Germany, Australia and the USA in addition to the Czech Republic. Prior to joining Photon Energy to lead the Photon Engineering division, Jiří worked at Savant consultancy as a Construction Supervisor and Site Manager on several large commercial and residential projects.
 
Magda Gärtnerová - Supervisory Board Member
Magda Gartnerová (1972) is a Czech citizen and since the establishment of the company has been working in Project Development department. Prior to Photon Energy, Magda worked for Inspekta a.s. in the area of quality control. Currently Magda is in charge of overlooking administrative processes of the Australian branch of Photon Energy in Sydney.
 
Peter Novotny - Supervisory Board Member
Peter Novotny (1973) is a Canadian and Czech national and moved to Prague from Toronto in 2002. Peter Novotny holds an M.B.A from McGill University in Montreal and is a C.F.A. Charterholder. Mr. Novotny was Chief Operating Officer of Photon Energy in 2009 and Head of Photon Management (O&M services) in 2010. He has five years of experience in the photovoltaic industry and twelve years of experience across Europe and North America in corporate finance, asset management and venture capital, with Deloitte, EnerCap Capital Partners, Kinghaven Capital Corporation and others.
