As a leader in the PV market worldwide and a strong supporter of renewable energy, Germany will continue to lead global advancement in solar energy not only in terms of installed capacity and newly-built PV installations, but also in development of regulatory framework for renewable energy all around the world.

Being one of the global market leaders and a pioneer in renewable energy, Germany will continue to lead the development of solar power. The share of renewable energy is expected to grow up to 35 % until 2020. Through this Germany wants to contibute its part to reducing the level of CO2 emissons.

The law on renewable energies (EEG) regulates and defines national feed-in tariffs. Due to this German market is highly developed with a high level of legal certainty.

Photon Energy Deutschland has already successfully connected several installations in Germany with the overall capacity of 1,5 MWp to the grid. One of the projects was a 1 MW greenfield PV power plant on a former landfill site in Ellrich, Thuringia region. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania several rooftop installations with the overall capacity of about 500 KWp have been connected to the grid.
